Civic Engagement

Through its civic engagement programs, and the educational foundation, AfriPAC educates the Diaspora on voting mechanisms; supports issue based campaigns that favor the well-being of Africans Immigrants in America, educate elected officials on issues that the African Diaspora faces and demand support of policies that benefit the community at large.

How it work

Voter Rights

We envision a just and fair electoral system, we want to eliminate voter suppression. We provide technical assistance and training on many voter-related issues, including language assistance mandated by the VRA, voter suppression, and election reform.

Language Access

We advocate for accurate representation and inclusion of our culture and the elimination of language barriers in government services, including improvements in the provision of interpretation services and translated documents for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals.

Naturalization

Join our legal clinics and workshops for naturalization. AfriPAC regularly partners with other legal service provider to provide naturalization workshops.

Immigration Advocacy

We believe that the immigrant rights movement needs to include the voices of African immigrants, we want to develop and advocate for better access to the decision making table, in order to advocate for better paths to citizenship, inclusion of African culture in mainstream America. Promote equitable access to state and federal identification for our communities.

Leadership Development

The African Public Affairs committee believes in leadership development and creating a more representative political space. AfriPAC aims to shape global policy toward Africa through leadership skills building programs

We believe that the next generation of leaders should be civically engaged and informed about voter education.
