Join AfriPAC for our Back to School Citizenship & Community Celebration and Youth Soccer Clinic — a free community event bringing families together for school readiness, youth activities, civic education and access to community resources.

AfriPAC's Back to School celebration helps families prepare for the school year while connecting them with free resources, useful information and opportunities for community participation.
Free School Supplies
School supplies will be distributed to registered families while supplies last.
Youth Soccer Clinic
Children ages 6–12 can participate in a free youth soccer clinic hosted by Houston Dynamo.
Food & Family Activities
Families can enjoy free food, snacks and family activities throughout the event.
Community Resources
Connect with nonprofit and community organizations providing free information, services and resources.
Civic Education
Access nonpartisan information about voting, civic participation and government institutions.
Citizenship Resources
Learn about citizenship, naturalization and resources available to immigrant and diaspora families.
Helping Students Start the School Year Ready
AfriPAC will distribute free school supplies to participating families during the event. Supplies are available while supplies last.
A child and parent or guardian must be present to receive school supplies.

Admission is free, but registration is required. School supplies are available while supplies last.
Families interested in the Youth Soccer Clinic must also complete the separate Houston Dynamo registration and waiver.
Youth Soccer Clinic
Children ages 6–12 are invited to participate in a free Youth Soccer Clinic hosted by Houston Dynamo.
The clinic gives young participants an opportunity to get active, build soccer skills and enjoy the game with other children in the community.
Children participating in the Youth Soccer Clinic must first be registered for the AfriPAC Back to School event through Eventbrite.
Parents or guardians must also complete the Houston Dynamo soccer clinic registration. This second registration is required because it includes the Houston Dynamo participation waiver.

Volunteers and community organizations play an important role in helping us provide families with a welcoming, resource-rich community event.

Volunteers can assist with family check-in, school supply distribution, event activities, community engagement and event support.
Volunteer Sign UpBecome a Community Partner
Nonprofit organizations, public agencies and community groups interested in participating must complete the Community Partner Form.
Participating organizations may provide free educational information, resources or services to families. Commercial vending, solicitation and the sale of goods or services are not permitted.

Back to School is about more than preparing students for the classroom. Strong communities are built when families have access to reliable information, understand the institutions that serve them and have opportunities to participate in civic life.
AfriPAC provides nonpartisan civic education and community resources to help African Diaspora communities better understand voting, citizenship, government, public policy and pathways to meaningful civic participation.
Participation in this event is not conditioned on political affiliation, voter registration status, citizenship status, or participation in political activity.

This year's Back to School celebration is held in loving memory of Kelvin Tochukwu Achapu, whose love of soccer and community continues to inspire our commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for young people.
